About the Event
Cikada and EAU are back with Arne Nordheim in full surround! A year ago, Cikada Duo and EAU performed works by Arne Nordheim for the first time in 24-channel surround – a dream that finally came true since their collaboration with Nordheim back in the 90s. In 2022, EAU worked on this work to make the electronics and sound effects possible to perform in concert. This gives a unique insight into Norway's history of electroacoustic music. Now Cikada and EAU repeat last year's successful collaboration and perform Fem Kryptofonier together with soprano Elisabeth Holmertz.
In addition to Nordheim’s Kryptofonier, this concert will give you several more modern works. For this concert, EAU will also collaborate with Cikada string quartet for the premiere of the new experimental work "The Hallucination Machine #1 for string quartet", electronics and real-time graphics by Natasha Barrett. There will also be a premiere performance of a brand-new piece by Rebecka Ahvenniemi for piano and cello, and Mathieu Lacroix's Stadig fjörnare, bort. Farther and ever closer.
